1. Create on desktop
OpenAI says dot creation is available in the ChatGPT desktop app or desktop web for eligible accounts. Follow the onboarding prompts and choose a name.
2. Define the job
Describe the goal, information sources, desired outputs, and when to ask you. Start with a read-only task when possible.
3. Connect only needed apps
Review each app’s requested permissions. A connected app may provide information and actions depending on its configuration; do not grant broader access than the workflow requires.
4. Review and adjust
Use the dot profile to inspect work in progress, scheduled work, and completed work. Configure confirmation rules for actions that should require your decision.
