What it is

A dot is a persistent agent inside ChatGPT. You give it a goal, choose connected apps, and set rules for actions it may take. Its cloud computer is separate from optional access to your local computer.

How it works

Create a dot on desktop, provide a goal, connect only needed apps, then review progress and completed work in its profile. The available controls and app access depend on your plan and workspace settings.

Capabilities and limits

OpenAI documents ongoing tasks, connected apps, memory, and a cloud computer. Supported app actions vary by connection and permission. AI Dots has not tested GitHub issue triage or release-note publishing with a dot.

Permissions and safety

OpenAI documents custom rules and confirmations for some actions. Treat a Blueprint permission statement as guidance; configure actual controls in ChatGPT and each connected app.
